Cam sites are free right up until the moment they aren’t. Then you are staring at a token store with six pack sizes, a “best value” badge and no idea what any of it is worth in real money.
So I did the maths. Below is what a token actually costs on the big sites, what a private show costs by the minute, and one thing most people never notice: the pack you buy decides how much of your money reaches the performer.
A token is worth about a dime
On the token-based sites, a token costs between roughly 8 and 11 US cents. The exact price depends on one thing more than anything else: how many you buy at once.
Chaturbate and MyFreeCams both publish their pack prices, and they are strikingly similar. Both start at $10.99 for 100 tokens, and both bottom out just under 8 cents a token if you buy in bulk.

Two things jump out. First, the biggest drop happens early. Going from 100 tokens to 1,000 on Chaturbate cuts the price per token by 27%. Going from 1,000 to 2,025 saves you almost nothing more. Second, the two sites land on nearly identical prices, which tells you this is roughly what the market has settled on.
Stripchat and BongaCams price in a similar band. Stripchat works out to roughly 8 to 11 cents a token depending on the pack and where you are, and BongaCams can be cheaper still, from about 5 euro cents a token. Both change prices by country and payment method more than Chaturbate does, so check the store before assuming.
Where your money actually goes
Here is the part people rarely think about. On Chaturbate and MyFreeCams, a performer receives $0.05 for every token you tip, no matter which pack you bought it from. The site keeps the rest.
That means the pack size doesn’t just change what you pay. It changes the split.

On the 100-token pack, the platform keeps more of your money than the performer does. Buy 1,000 and the performer’s share of what you spend jumps to about 63%. Same tips, same show, but more of it lands with the person you are actually tipping.
If you tip regularly, bulk packs are better for you and better for the performer. It is one of the few times in life where the cheaper option is also the nicer one.
LiveJasmin works differently
LiveJasmin doesn’t sell tokens. It sells credits, and most of what you pay for is private time priced per minute.
A credit costs about $1.00 in the smallest packs and about $0.70 in the largest. Private shows run from about 1.80 to 9.99 credits a minute, with most performers charging between 2.50 and 4.99. Cam2cam adds another one or two credits a minute on top.

That is why LiveJasmin ranks lower than Chaturbate on value in my scores even though it is excellent at what it does. It is built for people who want a polished one-on-one show and will pay for it, not for people who want to watch for free.
How to spend less without being cheap
- Buy one size up from the smallest pack. That is where most of the discount lives.
- Use spy shows where a site offers them. You watch someone else’s private show for a lower per-minute rate, without interacting.
- Check tip menus before you tip. They tell you exactly what a tip does, so you are not throwing tokens at a show hoping for something that isn’t on offer.
- Set a budget before you open the store. Token stores are designed to make topping up feel frictionless. Decide in dollars, not tokens.
- Watch for bonus-token promotions on Stripchat and BongaCams, especially on larger packs.
The short version
A cam token costs about a dime, and a little less if you buy sensibly. Private shows on the premium sites cost roughly $2 to $5 a minute. And if you tip at all, buying in bulk means both you and the performer come out ahead.
