A cam site looks chaotic the first time. Hundreds of thumbnails, a chat scrolling too fast to read, numbers flying past, and a performer reacting to things you can’t see. It makes sense within about ten minutes, and this guide is those ten minutes.
The basic deal
Performers stream live from home or a studio. Anyone can watch the public show for free. The show is funded by viewers who tip, and the performer decides what happens at what price.
You pay nothing to watch. You pay when you want to influence the show, get attention, or get the performer to yourself.
Tokens: the currency
You buy tokens in packs and spend them on the site. On the big token sites, a token costs roughly 8 to 11 US cents depending on the pack size, and the performer receives about 5 cents of that. I break the numbers down in what cam tokens really cost.
LiveJasmin and a few premium sites use credits instead, which cost closer to a dollar each and are mostly spent on private shows by the minute.

Tips, tip menus and goals
Tipping is the heart of it. You send tokens and the chat shows your name and the amount. Many performers use a tip menu: a price list like “10 tokens: say your name, 50 tokens: a specific request”. It is the clearest way to know what your tokens do.
Goals are collective. The performer sets a target (“at 1,000 tokens, the top comes off”) and everyone’s tips count toward it. It is how popular public shows get going.
Interactive toys are wired to tips: send tokens and a connected toy vibrates for a set time, with bigger tips giving longer or stronger responses. The room’s notes usually list the levels.
Private, spy and cam2cam
A private show takes the performer out of the public room for one-on-one time, charged per minute. The rate is shown before you start, and you can end it whenever you want.
A spy show lets you watch someone else’s private show at a lower per-minute rate, without being able to interact. It is the cheapest way to see what a performer does in private.
Cam2cam turns on your camera so the performer can see you. It usually costs extra per minute. It is entirely optional; most viewers never use it.
The etiquette nobody tells you
- Say hello like a person. Performers talk to hundreds of people a night. A normal greeting stands out more than you would think.
- Don’t ask for free stuff. “Show me X and I’ll tip later” is the fastest way to get ignored or blocked.
- Read the room notes and the tip menu before asking questions they already answer.
- Don’t ask for personal details: real name, location, social media. Performers work hard to keep their private lives private.
- Respect a no. Performers set limits. Asking again, or offering more, is not charming.
- Keep it on the platform. Requests to move to WhatsApp or Telegram are where most scams start, from either side.
